this is going to be a blog, much like my personal one (also on this site), but pertaining to religion and my personal beliefs. I don't have anything mind-blowing to say right now, but i want to start with the basics of what i believe.

i was raised eastern orthodox, and still consider myself to be, but i do have a deep interest and some belief in esoteric and gnostic christian beliefs. i think God is a loving, accepting, community-driven deity, and my belief is supported by my own readings and interpretations of the New Testament. it is our obligation, not just as christians, but as people, to care for everyone, even people who's way-of-life we may never understand ourselves. it is never a human's job to do what we think is "God's will", he will act on all the promises he makes, even if it takes time.

i think any person or government that wages war, hate, and/or ethnic cleansing in the name of God (i.e. israel) is our modern-day anti-Christ. the Bible does say when the anti-Christ comes it will take the face of someone God-fearing and use it for evil.

Lastly, i think it is entirely anti-christian to support any over-zealous, controlling government. not even exactly a country's government, but any group of people that tries to keep down those that are different from them. i think it is extremely christian to go out and help your community- soup kitchens, clothing drives, even just donating if you're a busy person, just do whatever you can. that is christian.
